The first treatment is typically the longest and takes 1 hour and 30-45 minutes. Here we will discuss the reason for your visit, health history, dietary, lifestyle, sleep patterns, emotional well-being, appetite and digestion. While some questions may seem unrelated to your health concern, the information will help the practitioner develop a diagnosis and corresponding treatment protocol. After all the questions have been answered, a tongue and pulse examination will be performed and an individualized treatment protocol will be made. Next, the acupuncture needling will begin. While you relax, possibly even nap, the needles will remain in your body for 20-30 minutes allowing your qi to circulate and balance out.
A follow-up visit is 60 minutes and begins with a brief questioning of changes of anything that was discussed at the first treatment. As always a tongue and pulse examination will be performed And an individualized treatment protocol will be made. Followed by the insertion of needles and retaining them in your body while you relax. I have 2 follow-up options available: 1 hour and 1.5 hours. The longer treatment is beneficially to those who want more relaxation or need other therapeutic treatments That require time.
Every session will include a pulse and tongue reading. The pulses are felt on both wrists and correspond to an organ and meridian and can be translated to help diagnose your health. The tongue also corresponds to organs and possible internal pathogens and help to correctly diagnose.
Some treatments might include, Gua Sha, Tui Na, Cupping, Electro-stimulation, Auricular. Click "Other Modalities" to learn more.
